![]() Dignitas' terran player SeleCT won himself a place at the Global Battle.net Invitational semi-finals after an impressive victory over Ukrainian Zerg Dimaga. SeleCT is the third Korean in the Winners Bracket round of 4 and is to play IM star player MVP next. SeleCT got the early lead on Xel'Naga Caverns by transitioning into a solid marine/tank composition after failing his bunker rush. Game's turning point was SeleCT's taking his third base at the gold base from where he initiated an attack towards Dimaga's third, bringing it down for the 1-0. The second set was, however, nothing short of spectacular. The show began when SeleCT opened with 2-rax rush once again but as he defended it easily, Dimaga responded with a huge baneling bust, breaking the rax wall-off and swarming in SeleCT's base. The Korean's insane micro was his sole savior and he managed to snipe the banelings one by one to stay alive and go into the mid-game. Soon the chaos of this ZvT ensued. Dimaga and SeleCT were constantly at each other's throats. The fungal/ultralisk vs marine/tank vikings were unending and all over the place. But as time went by, Dimaga faced the difficulty of keeping his economy healthy. As he never successfully secured a fifth, Dimaga started starving down and felt every other engagement closer to his jugular. In the end, Dimaga gg-ed out, wishing SeleCT good luck and a happy birthday! ![]() Although remaining off-stream, the Korea-trained pro-gamers continued to plough through the bracket. Nani scored another victory against Taiwanese star SEn to move to the WB semi-final, where he will meet three-times GSL champion NesTea, who stood true to his ZvZ reputation, owning Sheth 2-0 in the Ro8. The fourth Ro8 match saw MVP defeat Chinese zerg TooDming and will get the chance to play his compatriot SeleCT in a terran mirror. The first round of the LB saw many talented gamers go out early. The notable Chinese terran Loner and the hope of Australia MoonGlade were the first to say goodbye to the tournament along with now Korea-bound and LA champion Major as well as Taiwanese zerg Nifi. 2011 Global Battle.net Invitational WB Round of 8 NesTea 2-0 Sheth Naniwa 2-0 SEn MVP 2-1 TooDming SeleCT 2-0 Dimaga WB Semi Finals NesTea VS Naniwa SeleCT VS MVP LB Round 1 BratOK 2-1 Loner JazBas 2-0 Major Ret 2-1 MoonGlade Killer 2-0 Nifi LB Round 2 Dimaga VS BratOK TooDming VS JazBas Ret VS SEn Sheth VS Killer While NesTea vs Naniwa is currently being played off-stream, the next match scheduled to hit the monitors is a LB round 2 game between SEn and Ret. |
